Zero Waste Italy, in collaboration with the Zero Waste Research Center of Capannori, the Zero Waste Mediterranean Academy, and the Zero Waste Products, is pleased to announce the 2024 national competition for the Zero Waste Product of the Year.
This competition is aimed at companies that are demonstrating bold innovation in making their products more durable, recyclable, and/or compostable.
A total of 11 products will be recognized, with one special designation as the Zero Waste Product of the Year. The award ceremony will take place on November 22-23, 2024 at Parco Scientifico – Capannori (Lucca).The products included in the Zero Waste Products List and Showcase are evaluated based on strict criteria, with a focus on durability (use, reuse, repair, disassembly, recycling, and/or composting).
Products and packaging that are easy to recycle or home compostable are also considered, while industrially compostable bioplastics are generally excluded, except for biodegradable bags used in organic waste collection.Additionally, products made from industrial waste that are repairable and recyclable, as well as educational items promoting the circularity of nature and life, are also included. Each year, three products from each category are selected and awarded the Product of the Year.
